We have received several interesting newspaper cuttings from John Tozeland in Lismore NSW Australia. He has also published articles about Lismore in his Lismore CBD Magazine. The interacting between the island and Lismore NSW has been ongoing for several decades. Many Liosaich have visited and the author of ‘Lismore in Alba’, Ian Carmichael, corresponded with them about many things and they received a copy of the first book about life on the island ‘Lismore in Alba’.

LISMORE (SCOTLAND) SAYS “Thanks for Food”
Lismore branch of the N.S.W. Postal Institute has been sending parcels of food to the employees of the post office in Lismore, Scotland. In November the Institute sent 13 parcels to Great Britain, five of which went to Lismore’s Scottish sister city.
The employees donated 1/- a month from their wages to purchase food for the parcels. The Treasurer of the Institute has received acknowledgment from Lismore.
The letter reads: “The first gift parcels arrived safely and in good condition. This week the second lot arrived, also in splendid condition. The staff and I are most grateful to the post office staff of Lismore, N.S.W., for all the good things they have so kindly sent us.
“Our rations in this country are still very small and some things are difficult to get. The staff join with me in sending our very best wishes and thanks.”
The letter is signed by the sub-postmistress (J. Stewart).
The Lismore institute also sends parcels to the postmasters of small towns in England picked at random from a map. It has received thanks from the Postmaster at Long Ashton, Bristol, and from the mother of an employee of the post office at Carshalton, Surrey.

LISMORE CLOTHES FOR LISMORE
Lismore branch of the Demobilised Sailors, Soldiers and Airmen’s Association—which yesterday despatched three cases of clothing to Britain—intends to make the next delivery from its appeal to Lismore, in Scotland.
The cases sent yesterday were addressed to Rev. James Morrison, North Uist, Scotland, for distribution.
The President of the Association (Mr. H. Pritchard) said it was hoped to send more cases in the near future, and these would be addressed to Lismore, Scotland.
