The Comann Eachdraidh Lios Mòr has appointed Helen Crossan as the Heritage Recorder at Lismore Gaelic Heritage Centre. Funded by Bòrd na Gàidhlig and Argyll & Bute Council (Third Sector), she will be responsible for recording the memories of the older residents with an emphasis on Lismore Gaelic. This follows her editing of the very successful Cradle of Master Mariners, a film in Gaelic and English, about the sailing smacks that worked out of Port Ramsay, which can now be viewed in the Museum. Helen has wide media experience and will travel around the island making contact and recordings and would like to hear from anyone who is enthusiastic about taking part.
