An Events’ day at the Museum gave adults and children alike the chance to step back in time and experience the everyday lives and especially the chores of earlier generations.
Stepping back in time 13 august 2007 wringing clothes
Freda MacGregor and Catherine Gillies, dressed appropriately, demonstrated and taught various ways to spin and card wool as well as how to churn butter and do a very old style wash. The children enjoyed stamping on blankets in a barrel as well as using scrubbing boards and wringing out by hand.

During the spinning Emily Edwards from Islay gave a virtuoso display of her fiddle playing and in the café there was a special Scottish fare menu.
