In the Lismore cafe On Saturday 8 June 2013, 30 people sat down to a feast prepared by Beth Campbell assisted by Josie Meddes. They worked tirelessly and the result was great African themed food, great craic, and a beautifully decorated table, It was all to help Memory and Ian McDonald’s two youngest daughters, Mhari and Sarah, fund their part in a building programme in Tanzania which is making homes for orphaned children.
As Memory told us “this is their chance to make a direct contribution to the lives of some of the poorest children in the world and to witness at first hand the transition from street to a loving home.”
They have set a target of £4000 and the dinner added an amazing £700 to the £1720 already raised. Further donations to www.vinetrust.org/support/sarmar All money will go to building materials and the volunteers will work alongside local craftsmen.
