Beth Campbell hosted a hugely enjoyable Christmas Dinner in the Isle of Lismore Café on 21 December 2013 when 20 diners sat down to a delicious five course meal. This was Beth’s final event as proprietor of the café after four years of making it a central part of island life and a great place to be.
On the night she was ably assisted by Carol MacLean, Davie Meddes and Kiki MacColl, and Beth extended great good wishes to Kiki who is to take over the running of the café in the New Year.
Apart from a couple of tense moments when the power went off for a short period, it was a most entertaining evening with Beth providing not just great food but an ingenious game involving playing Christmas carols on small whistles which flew out of the crackers.
Everyone wished Beth a great future preceded by a long rest. The hamper Beth has been raffling for some time for the children’s fund, which helps all children on the island, was won by Jim MacCormick, despite Beth going to some effort to stop Jim winning as his luck is now legendary.
