At the invitation of the Comann Eachdraidh Lios Mor, Murdo MacDonald, Argyll and Bute archivist, gave a talk in the hall. He spoke on four topics:
- The Clearances and the different ways that evictions were carried out;
- The Redcoats and the route they regularly took when moving between garrisons at Fort William and Castle Duart on Mull via Lismore;
- The limeworkings and their importance to the community and, lastly, he spoke about
- Ministers of the church on Lismore including the Rev. Donald MacNichol 1766 – 1802 and the Rev. Gregor MacGregor 1836 – 1885
The talk was informal and interactive with the audience contributing from their own local knowledge and family histories. It was a most enjoyable and informative evening.
