Ceilidh — Argyll Ceilidh Trail

Argyll Fèis Latharna’s ‘Ceòl mun Cuairt – The Argyll Ceilidh Trail –  visited Lismore on 1 August  as part of their tour of Argyll and offered a lively musical evening. The band is made up of the best of  current young traditional musicians from Argyll and the Isles and this years’ Trailers are, returning from last year, twins Jamie & Anna MacDonald from Tiree; Becky Hill, Connel; David Provan, Ardrishaig and Alex MacKechnie, Strachur, along with new members James and Rebekah MacPherson, Oban and Niamh MacKaveney, Tarbert.  They play a wide variety of instruments from pipes to accordion, whistle, fiddle, piano, clarsach, guitar and they all sing. The evening opened with the two pipers and followed with a series of reel, jigs and hornpipes with vocal items in between and plenty of dances including a Canadian Barn dance, Dashing white Sergeant and Highland Schottische.
