This unique ceilidh on the 25 March 2001 was a performance by the school children after having worked with actors and musicians – Meanbh-chuileag (Gaelic for midge) It is a theatre -in- education company and the initiative was established in 2000 as a Fèisean nan Gàidheal’s (festival of the Gaels) funded by Bord na Ghailig. Meanbh-chuileag visit schools as a way of offering tuition in Gaelic Language and Culture.
Lismore primary school was very lucky to have the opportunity to work with Mairi Kidd , Domhnall Uilleam Stiubhart, and Musician Dougie Beck and to perform in Gaelic for the island .
The visitors were accommodated in Achnacroish by Maighread Lobban.
