We aim to carry out an intensive week of archaeology to find out what the unexpected built structures under the peat really are: prehistoric? (we did find evidence of flint working); Early Church (Moluag’s original monastic buildings?); or associated with the medieval cathedral? The big difference this time will be that, whatever the weather, we will have a pump on site to deal with any flooding.
This will be the culmination of six years of work. We will soon have a great wealth of information about the Clachan area from prehistory to the present, allowing us to explain and interpret its story.
