The Comann Eachdraidh held its annual ceilidh in the Lismore hall on Saturday 17 August. Introduced by Duncan Livingstone with Katy Crossan an entertaining and efficient bean an taigh, the evening featured performers from on and off the island and was opened by piper Calum MacColl from Fort William. There were lovely songs from the local performers: 9 year old Katy Cook, 13 yr old Sophie King and adults Mary MacDougall, and Laura Cook. Islanders Sebastian and Eva Tombs performed a gaelic song with fiddle and guitar and Duncan Ferguson played the accordion.

Invited performers were by and large from Oban and Fort William and, apart from the piper, were all singing mostly in Gaelic but with the odd English ballad. Charlie MacColl had lost none of his power and musicality since last he visited and was well supported by Norman MacKinnon, Jimmy Cameron, Morag Smith and Graham Campbell. The event was well attended and the supper and raffle enjoyed.
